Katlynn's take: Decatur is such a large neighborhood of Atlanta. Downtown Decatur is one of my favorite places in Atlanta. Its full of family-owned restaurants and unique shopping. The downtown really gives the small town vibe, but you're just 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta, giving you the best of both worlds. Decatur City Schools are fantastic and have very high ratings, making this a great place to settle down and lay roots. This area is very strong on the resale side and demands high value the closer you are to the downtown area. The other zipcodes of Decatur also bring their own charm, full of beautiful 1960s-1970s-built homes with lots of character, they also are solid on the resale side as well with prices ranging from the 300s-375s.
